FAQ
1. Can I visit Taiwan or UChicago for more than 1 summer?
(For Taiwan students) Yes, if the PI at the host institute agrees to host you for longer time. Please ask the PI to indicate the length of your stay. The fellowship only offers support for the 3 months in summer.
(For UChicago students) The fellowships at NTU covers only the summer porgram period (6/16~8/15). For any extended stay, you’ll be repsonsible for additional tuition and fees and finding your own housing.
2. How do I find a PI? What if the PI I want to work with is not on the list?
If you are unsure who you would like to work with, we suggest you consult the researchers or the department chair at your home institute. They might have good suggestions for you. Please initiate the contact with the PI yourself. You can also contact PIs who are not on the list and let him/her know about our program.

7. Do I need to be a senior undergraduate student to apply for the program?
The program is open to undergradautes in all years as well as master and Ph.D. students. The only constraint is that during your visit, you should maintain your student status at the home institute.
8. (For Taiwan students) Are the arrival and departure dates flexible?
Yes, please discuss with the host institute PI on the dates of arrival and departure. Note that the fellowship only covers the summer quarter (6/16-9/28/2025). If your stay goes beyond the summer quarter, you need to pay for the tuition and fees for the additional quarters.
9. (For Taiwan students) Should I apply for UCTS fellowship and NDVS program at the same time?
Please apply for the fellowship first, which partially covers tuition, fees and housing. After getting the fellowship, you apply for the NDVS program in order to enroll as a summer student at UChicago and obtain visa document. Without the fellowship, you will have to pay the full tuition, fees and find your own housing.
