UCTS Application
Apply for a research position at the University of Chicago
If you are a registered university student from Taiwan and are interested in conducting research at the University of Chicago, the program is perfect for you. Please consult your advisor to find a host PI at UChicago and initiate a discussion with him/her on the availability of a short-term research position.
Application for the UCTS fellowship requires an agreement from both your home and host institutes. The application deadline for the 2025-2026 program is 1/31/2026. Please prepare and upload the following information using this submission link.

- Your transcript
- Statement of your research experience and research plan at the Univ. of Chicago (< 1 page)
- Recommendation letter from your advisor or the department chair of your home institute
- Invitation letter from the faculty member at the University. of Chicago
As a recipient of the Fellowship, you will be enrolled in the Non-Degree Visiting Student (NDVS) program for the time you stay at the University of Chicago. Ideal duration of visit for the 2026 summer quarter is 6/16/2026-9/28/2026. We will assist you on the program and VISA application.

Apply for a research position in Taiwan
If you are and will be a registered student at the University of Chicago in 2026 summer and are interested in conducting research in Taiwan, please check out the open positions under Taiwan PIs. You may contact your academic advisor or professors here at UChicago working in related fields for recommendation. We encourage you to initiate discussion with the Taiwan PIs on the availability to do short term research in Taiwan in 2026. All Taiwan PIs on the website are familiar with the UCTS program and will provide information on the project and the duration of your research.
Once you obtain the offer from the PI, please work with him/her to apply for the research assistant position through the university website. Below please find the links to the application portals from different Universities in Taiwan as well as required documents. Please indicate your interest in the 2026 UCTS program.
